Item 5.02 Departure of Directors or Certain Officers; Election of Directors; Appointment of Certain Officers; Compensatory Arrangements of Certain Officers.

On August 16, 2024, Dr. Henry J. Fuchs advised BioMarin Pharmaceutical Inc. (the “Company”) that he has elected to retire from the Company effective March 3, 2025 (the “Retirement Date”). He will continue in his current role until Dr. Greg Friberg assumes the position of Executive Vice President, Chief Worldwide Research and Development Officer, which is expected on September 30, 2024. Thereafter, Dr. Fuchs will transition into a full-time role of senior advisor through the Retirement Date.
